Since
ancient times the hare has been associated
with the Divine. Holda was followed by
a train of hares carrying torches, while
Eostre changed into a hare at the full
moon. It is a symbol of fertility, intuition,
spring and, as already mentioned, the
moon. The eternal cycle of three hares
sharing only three ears can be found in
many countries and cultures. Interestingly,
it is often found in close proximity to
carvings of the Green Man in western churches.
